From My Heart to Yours
The weather did not cooperate with us this past Sunday, so our WATS Day projects had to be put on hold. We will regroup and give it another try soon. Bro. Rick will be in touch with our mission teams about rescheduling the event. I received a letter the other day from Richard Harris, Senior Strategist of the North American Mission Board. The letter congratulated our church for being in the top 100 of Southern Baptist churches in our state in total dollars given to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering in 2007. After I read the letter I prayed and thanked the Lord for the privilege of shepherding a church who has made doing missions and giving to missions a top priority of our ministry. God is always pleased when we go do missions and when we give to missions so others can hear the gospel and be saved. Just a few days ago our church voted to set our 2008 World Missions goal for $50,000. Ingathering Day for this offering is Sunday, December 7. Let’s begin praying now and trust God to help us reach this goal for His honor and His glory. People who need to hear the good news of Jesus are counting on us to give. Let’s not disappoint them. Do you like good news? Support of our church’s budget is up 16.5% over last year’s budget. That’s good news! We recently made an extra $50,100 principle payment to the loan on our new building. That’s good news! The Bible says, “The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him.” Let’s continue to trust the Lord and do good. Sunday, June 1, is Tempye Carey Day at WBC. We will recognize Tempye for her 30 years of service to our church as our Administrative Assistant. She is a valuable member of our staff and we love her dearly. Mark your calendar and plan to honor Tempye on June 1. I am grateful for the privilege to serve with you as your pastor. See you Sunday! Bro. Lee
